Caught the new X-Men movie and, since I don't want to spoil anything, just one complaint - since when could the jet turn invisible?
This "super-stealth" mode might have come in handy in the first movie when sneaking up on Magneto at the Statue of Liberty (they had Storm create fog in which to hide) or in the second movie when being chased down by the U.S. Air Force. But they decide to wait to unleash that little trick until flying into a little battle featuring another mutant who can sense the presence of mutants miles away. So was it really a necessary plot point?
And considering what was going on in the world of the X-Men between the 2nd and 3rd movies, it's hard to imagine when this little trick was invented. Cyclops was in mourning and later blown to bits (oops... ignore that), meaning he was too busy/distracted to work out that new bit of technology. Likewise, Jean and Prof X, either of whom may have been able to turn the jet invisible with their mind powers, were either also blown to bits, leaving just a wheel chair to be buried (oops again, sorry about that!) or reincarnated as a bad guy only to be killed again at the end (oh well, you get the idea).
I'll just assume that there were a few extra dollars in the special effects budget so they figured, why not? Whatever the reason, when the most implausible part of a movie featuring a blue, hairy cabinet member, a 180-pound man being turned into 5 pounds of dust, and a battle of ice and fire resulting in ice being victorious (which any scientist would tell you is impossible) is a jet turning invisible, you know that I'm thinking way too much.
By the way, Magneto didn't really lose his powers and Xavier didn't really die. See ya.
