does it come in black?
I only have one thing to say about this movie.
Wow.
Forget X2. Forget Spider-man. Hell, forget Superman way back in 1978. They finally made the perfect comic book movie. Not adaptation, but a true comic book movie (the best adaptation will probably always be Sin City, I had a hard time remembering that I wasn't sitting on my couch at home reading those stories while watching that movie).
Other movies have gotten bits of it right, but no one's delivered the full package that way that Batman Begins does. From characters that felt real (and felt true to their comic antecedent) to amazing action to an origin story that doesn't put you to sleep (I may have loved it, but trying watching Spider-man more than a few times without fast-forwarding). This movie propelled you forward with a complex plot that didn't make you feel stupid and never lost you along the way.
And here's the kicker, at least for me. They didn't kill the villain in the end. All right, you can argue on the death of Ra's Al Ghul, but any comic fan knows he'll be back. But they didn't narrow the supervillain down to a one-trick pony that burns itself out by the end of the movie. The whole thing was much more epic in nature.
One step along a journey that's nowhere near over yet.
Batman Begins - 4 out of 5.
