Welcome...to Flavor Country by worm 1
This week, well answer some reader mail!Dear Flavor Country,
Ive noticed that a lot of cars seem to have a hard time making right turns quickly, especially when entering parking lots. Ive noticed this particularly with large trucks. You know, the kind that youd imagine the owner bought to be all tough and manly, yet they take the turn at about 2 mph, especially if theres a slight incline. I just want to know, whats the deal with that?
Sincerely,
concerned with trucks that are tough or manly but cant make right turns above 2 mph, especially if theres a slight incline
Well, concerned with trucks, you bring up a good point. You know, I used to be friends with this guy that had one of those manly trucks, as you put it. He always kept a bag of pork rinds in the little compartment between the seats and he would just snack away on them day and night. It was really disgusting.
Did you know that pork rinds have their origin in the Black Country area of the West Midlands in England? They showed up sometime in the 1800s as a fried or burned bit of the pigs skin that hardened after it was cooked into something similar to what we see today. The process, much as it does today, would burn off the hair and dirt from the pork skin, although this wasnt always the case. It turns out that some people actually prefer the hair to be left on.
The pork rind has gained some popularity in the United States as being an acceptable snack food for the Atkins Diet. It appears that the rind, while being completely unhealthy for you, also contains no carbohydrates. This makes it perfectly acceptable for what could be considered the dumbest diet ever invented.
My friend, who owned the truck with the pork rinds, would just chomp away at those things, espousing the weight he was losing while complaining about the dull ache he couldnt seem to get rid of in his left arm.
Interesting.
Anyway, as for those guys who are slow with the right turns, well, my best guess is that theyre just assholes.
